The generation process uses the data recorded previously in the Reference Data, Curriculum, and Learner Enrolments areas to generate ILR and Learner Aim records for a learner. The generation process scans all the People Unit records to see which ones need to be generated.

To decide if an ILR record needs to be generated, it uses two criteria:

If required, an ILR record is created.

For the course related to the People Unit, the UIO LA records are checked. Learner Aim records are created for all UIO QA records which match the following criteria:

Note: This process never creates two Learner Aim records with the same ILR Qualification Aim code in the same Funding Year for the same enrolment record, but can create two Learner Aims with the same Funding Year, same ILR Qual Aim code but for different enrolments.

The success of this phase depends upon the correct qual aim being associated with the UIO record for that Funding Year.
